Radiation Therapy

This therapy uses high energy x-rays and other radiations for the treatment of lung cancer. This therapy aims to kill the cancerous cells. There are no surgery-related risks involved with this treatment option. Radiotherapy is also used in combination with surgery or chemotherapy. This therapy can have some adverse effects such as fatigue, reduction in WBCs and reduction in platelet count. Irritation or itching can also occur in the area exposed to radiation.
