High Caffeine Intake
Another contributing factor in the production of ulcers is an excessive intake of caffeine. Caffeine increases stomach acid production, making you more vulnerable to ulcers.
Caffeine appears to speed up the gastric emptying cycle, resulting in high stomach acid content. The acid travels faster than normal into the small intestine. Not only does this increase the risk of developing an ulcer, it also exacerbates the effects of those with an established ulcer.
