Lipodermatosclerosis
Lipodermatosclerosis is a medical term for the hardening of the fat under the skin of the area around our ankles. The condition of varicose veins causes an immense amount of pressure on the veins due to the accumulation of a lot of blood in the veins. The immense pressure on the veins causes swelling and inflammation of the surrounding tissues like the area of calves and ankles along with the leg tissues. The hardening of fat tissues under the ankles’ skin results in the shrinking of the skin, which looks ugly and hurts a bit too.
