Venous Eczema
Venous eczema or venous gravitational dermatitis is one of the skin conditions which occur mainly in patients with venous insufficiency. The reason behind the occurrence of venous eczema is due to the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, and there is also activation of an innate type of immunity. Venous eczema is the type of symptom that appears more often in older adults, and almost 20% of the population over the age of 70 suffer from venous eczema. The suffering persons feel the urge to scratch the affected area of varicose veins.
