Zinc is possibly safe when you are taking it within the recommended limits orally. Daily amounts of zinc must not exceed the daily limit of 4 mg in infants aged 0 to 6 months, 7 mg per day in children 1 to 3 years, 5 mg per day in infants of 7 to 12 months, 12 mg per day in 4 to 8 years old children, 23 mg per day in 9 to 13 years old children, and 34 mg per day in children of 14 to 18 years old.
