Skin, eye, and joint inflammation
Although the symptoms mentioned above are more common signs of Crohn’s disease, swelling of the skin, eyes, or joints is an unusual one that may indicate a more severe form of Crohn’s. As Crohn’s is a systemic inflammatory condition, people with it may also develop other inflammatory conditions that not only affect their digestive systems, such as arthritis, dermatitis, and other conditions. You may also have inflammatory eye problems, such as conjunctivitis (the medical term for pink eye) or inflammatory skin problems, such as erythema nodosum, that causes the development of the round nodules on the front of the feet.
