Arthritis
Another common symptom of Crohn’s disease is the inflammation of the joints or arthritis. Some studies suggest that almost 30 percent of people with Crohn’s disease are affected by arthritis. It is difficult for physicians to link arthritis to inflammatory bowel diseases properly.
Arthritis in this condition is usually less severe than other types of arthritis because it develops secondary to the inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. The joints do not undergo significant damage or disruptive changes, and the symptoms of the underlying condition generally improve following proper treatment.
