Vegetables
Although vegetables are a healthy choice, some of them may cause harm. Vegetables that should be avoided while on a flare-up diet include:
- Brussel sprouts
- Beets
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Corn
- Cabbage
- Lima beans
- Onions
- Greens
- Parsnips
- Spinach
- Winter squash
- Peppers
- Potato skins
Some of these veggies are not high in fiber, such as onions and peppers, but are known to irritate the stomach and intestinal lining of a person with Crohn’s disease.
