Myocardial infarction: another fatal possibility of an anaphylactic shock is heart attack. Mediator-induced effects on the vessels result in diminished filling of the heart. Unable to fill properly, the heart fails to pump blood to all organs, including itself. Arrhythmias can also complicate this mechanism and result in heart attack.
