Anemia : Overview, Symptoms, Causes, Types, and Dietary Guidelines

Megaloblastic Anemia

In this type, the bone marrow produces immature and abnormal red blood cells that cannot transport oxygen effectively. The deficiency of cobalamin and folate leads to megaloblastic anemia. These vitamins are critical for the synthesis of hemoglobin and red blood cells. There may be no symptoms visible at the early stages. Difficulty breathing, pale skin, fatigue, tachycardia, and dizziness are some of its symptoms. The supplementation of vitamin B12 and vitamin B9 are effective treatment methods to treat this disease.
