Treatment of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are inflamed tissues in rectum or anus. Hemorrhoids can be external or internal. It can be diagnosed by the examination of a doctor. A physical exam will be done by doctors. In most cases, hemorrhoids are caught in early stages. The hemorrhoids of grade one and two are treated with medicines and ointments are applied to comfort the symptoms. Paracetamols are given as pain relievers, and some lifestyle changes are adopted, a healthy and balanced diet is taken.

The doctor may ask some question which may include:

  • Colour of stool
  • Stool movement changes in recent time
  • Family history of anal diseases
  • Blood drippings with stool

For an internal or one may say clinical examination, the physician performs Digital Rectal Examination abbreviated as DRE. Proctoscopy is also done with the help of proctoscope. It is a hollow tube in which light is installed, which permits the examiner to have a bright aspect. As the tube is empty, so it allows the doctor to take a sample. Later the sample can be sent to the laboratories for analysis.
