Delayed Dark Adaptation

Delayed Dark Adaptation

A common symptom that Is normally hard to notice is difficulty in seeing in the dark. A person takes time to see in darkness; it is called delayed dark adaptation. The cause is that in this condition, the retina takes longer than usual to adapt when the eyes switch from bright to a dark environment.

A simple example to understand this is that a person will have difficulty seeing the seats immediately on entering the dark movie theater after coming from bright light. The vision will return slowly in almost 30 minutes, and the person will be able to see clearly.
