These are two-step treatments that involve using a light-sensitive drug to damage the abnormal blood vessels. In this procedure, a medication called Verteporfin is injected into the arm of the affected person so that it may reach the bloodstream and detect the abnormal blood vessel in the eye. It is then absorbed by the abnormal blood vessel in the eye. After that, a laser is shined into the eye that activates the drug to damage the macula’s abnormal blood vessel.
