Fluorescein Angiography

Fluorescein Angiography

It is a diagnostic procedure that uses a camera to record the blood flow in the retina to determine if the blood vessels in the back of the eye-getting adequate blood flow. The test does not involve direct contact with the eye.  In this process, a fluorescent dye is injected into the bloodstream.  The doctor injects color dye into the vein of the arm. The dye travels through the blood vessels of the eye. Photographs are taken to visually analyze the blood flow in the retina. The pictures help in finding out any abnormal blood vessel or any damage to the lining of the retina.
