Reduce Consumption of Carbohydrates from Diet

Diets that contain a high amount of carbohydrates can increase the risk of AMD. It was confirmed in a study done by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Diet high in carbs has a high glycemic index, which causes a rapid increase in blood sugar level, and more insulin is released.

Many food items contain refined carbohydrates, including donuts, white bread, white rolls, baked items, etc. while low glycemic index food items include cereals, grains, pulses, fruits, and vegetables.

Consumption of high saturated food is associated with a vast number of diseases that increase the risk of eye disorders, including macular degeneration.
