Macular Degeneration: Causes, Symptoms, Treatments

Subtle Distortion

Subtle Distortion

Another symptom that is mostly observed as an early symptom of AMD is subtle distortion in central vision. A straight line appears to be curved. For example, a door frame appears to have a curvy area; the reason is a small retinal elevation, which causes light to land from a straight line to the wrong part of the retina.  The straight lines seem to be curved along with a blurred vision.
