5. Serum protein electrophoresis

The level of specific proteins in the blood helps to determine the stage and type of the disease. Serum protein electrophoresis tests measure the amount of some proteins, including M proteins in the blood.

6. Immunofixation electrophoresis

This test detects the presence of abnormal antibodies produced by myeloma cells in the blood.

7. Bence Jones proteins test

Bence Jones proteins also called light chain proteins produced by cancerous cells. The presence of Bence Jones proteins in the blood indicates the presence of multiple myeloma.
