In this method, a radioactive substance is injected into the body that is absorbed by the myeloma cells. A scanner scans the full-body and takes pictures of the areas with a high amount of radioactive sugars. Like the CT scan technique, this method also detects plasmacytomas that cannot be scanned by X-rays.
