Various body conditions and diseases can influence the growth of bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens and subsequently can be an underlying cause for the infection in the urinary tract. Those with nerve damage and spinal cord injuries around the bladder are the primary cause why some affected people are unable to empty their bladder completely. This may lead to bacterial overgrowth in the urine left behind and later on infection in the bladder.
Enlarged prostate, kidney stones, or any other urinary condition that blocks the flow of urine and can lead to a urinary tract infection. Diabetes and high blood sugar levels can also be problematic because it provides a breeding ground and weakens the body’s immunity and natural defense system.
