Short Attention Span

Short Attention Span

A short attention span is another common physiological trait that individuals with Down syndrome are likely to have. As mentioned earlier, all patients with Down syndrome develop cognitive disability to some extent. One of these consequences is a short attention span, which leads to learning difficulty. People with Down Syndrome may feel difficulty reading a book for a long period, or it may be hard for them to solve complex problems. Encouragement and family support, early intervention, and education can reduce the harmful effects of these disabilities.
