Piriformis muscle stretch

The exercise specifically targets a small muscle called the piriformis. It helps reduce pain in the base of the back.

How to do it:

  1. Lie on the back on a flat surface with the knees half bent. Place both heels on the floor.
  2. Cross left leg over the right and rest the ankle on the bent knee.
  3. Gently and slowly pull the crossed knee toward the chest until you feel a stretch in the buttock.
  4. Hold piriformis stretch for a few seconds and repeat on both sides.
