Numbness and Tingling:
The patients of hyperkalemia usually suffer from the sensation of numbness in the limbs and across the body, which occurs in a band-like manner. There is a feeling of pins or needles, buzzing, crawling sensation, and tingling. The numbness and tingling sensations are mainly due to the limited supply of oxygen to the peripheral body parts, which indicates the inability of the heart to pump blood efficiently. The symptom of numbness and tingling sensations usually develops over many weeks or months. It is mild in most patients, but it can get severe if the patient is not seeking proper treatment.
