Muscle Pain or Cramps:

The patients suffering from hyperkalemia usually suffer from muscle aches and cramps due to the higher amount of potassium in their blood. Higher potassium levels in the blood cause the muscles to stay stiff and does not allow the muscles to relax—the constant contraction of the muscles, which is involuntary and forced results in painful muscles and cramps. Usually, muscle cramps and pain is harmless. Still, as in the case of hyperkalemia, it is related to the involuntarily and prolonged muscle contraction, it is severe and needs medical attention immediately. Moreover, there is an occurrence of sudden muscular cramps which cause tightening of muscles and results in immense pain.
