Wipple Procedure
If the tumor is located in the head portion of the pancreas, a surgery is performed in order to remove the cancer affected area. The doctors also remove some nearby area which is the duodenum, some part of the stomach and gall bladder just to avoid cancer spread. In some cases, the doctors also remove some part of the colon. The rest of the pancreas is reconnected in order for the body to function properly.
