The brain has a consistency similar to gelatin and the cerebrospinal fluid provides cushioning from everyday bumps and jolts. A violent blow to the neck, head, or upper body due to military training activities can sometimes cause concussions to occur. An injury can cause the brain to spin back and forth in a forceful manner against the skull. In addition, the soldiers participating in a combat are at higher risk of developing a concussion.
