CT scanning in children and teens
A CT scan is a recommendation for young children who:
- Tend to lose consciousness for five minutes or more
- Are not able to recall the memories of before or after the injury and the memory loss lasts more than five minutes
- Are unusually sleepy
- Are sick more than three times since the injury
- Have seizure or fits after the injury
- Suffer from acute memory loss
- Have symptom like panda eyes
- Have a large wound or bruise to the head or face
A CT scan is also a usual recommendation for babies older than one year who suffer from swelling, bruising, or cuts on the head which is bigger than 2 inches.
