A CT scan is a recommendation for young children who:

  • Tend to lose consciousness for five minutes or more
  • Are not able to recall the memories of before or after the injury and the memory loss lasts more than five minutes
  • Are unusually sleepy
  • Are sick more than three times since the injury
  • Have seizure or fits after the injury
  • Suffer from acute memory loss
  • Have symptom like panda eyes
  • Have a large wound or bruise to the head or face

A CT scan is also a usual recommendation for babies older than one year who suffer from swelling, bruising, or cuts on the head which is bigger than 2 inches.
