Respiratory distress and failure
When the small air sacs of the lungs fill with excess fluid, then there happens acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which is another respiratory complication. This complication might develop after specific treatments, including talc pleurodesis or surgery. The doctors recommend the use of mechanical ventilation for patients with ARDS.
