Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy involves the use of certain chemicals to kill the cells of cancer. The use of systematic chemotherapy helps in reducing cancer cells. Systemic chemotherapy moves throughout the body, and might helps in shrinking or slowing down the growth of mesothelioma tumors. Chemotherapy kills the tumors, which are not possible to remove with the help of surgical procedures. The doctors also use chemotherapy before surgery to make the surgical procedure easier, known as neoadjuvant chemotherapy. While if the chemotherapy is performed after the surgical procedure, then it is known as adjuvant chemotherapy to minimize the chance of cancer to return. The drugs of chemotherapy are easy to heat and then administer directly into the abdominal cavity in the patients of peritoneal mesothelioma, and this procedure is known as intraperitoneal chemotherapy.
