Due to the malignant mesothelioma, the interest of the patient is eating, and the palatability towards food decreases adversely, which leads to loss of appetite. Loss of appetite might be due to the cancer itself, but it might be due to the other underlying symptoms of mesothelioma too. The other symptoms which might become the cause of loss of appetite of the mesothelioma patient include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, general weakness, fatigue, breathlessness, trouble in swallowing, abdominal pain, changes in smell or taste, or feeling low. Loss of appetite poorly affects the nutritional status of the mesothelioma patient and leads to frequent weight loss.
