Primary-progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS)

Primary-progressive multiple sclerosis is the type in which there is the development of the worsening of neurological function, and the symptoms become more severe. There is the presence of relapses and remissions in some patients, while there are no relapses and remissions in some patients, but the condition worsens with time. There is the presence of occasional relapses with more brain lesions appearing in the MRI scans, indicating that there is an active period of PPMS. This type of multiple sclerosis is less common in the patients and occurs in almost 10% of the patients with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
