Complications of multiple sclerosis

If the condition of multiple sclerosis patients worsens, then there is the development of certain complications, which can result in disabilities for a lifetime. Some of these complications can drastically reduce the quality of life in patients. Some of these complications include:

Muscle stiffness and spasms:

Spasticity or having muscle spasms is one of the most common symptoms of multiple sclerosis, and it affects the patients the most. But when there is a progression of multiple sclerosis in the patients, the degree of spasticity increases day by day and worsens the condition of the patient. The mobility of the patient gets compromised greatly. In severe cases of multiple sclerosis, the muscles become stiff, heavy, and difficult to move. The spasms occur suddenly, and the stiffness o the muscle comes suddenly, which is more harmful to most of the people. The patient feels tightening around the joints and especially in the area of limbs. There is throbbing pain in the back, too, along with legs due to the development of scarring in the spinal cord area.
