Atopic dermatitis is a skin disorder related to numerous biochemical abnormalities of the skin and in the immune system of the patient. Atopic dermatitis causes skin lesions, itching, and inflammation. It is associated with multiple infections like yeast, bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Atopic dermatitis causes itchy, cracked, and sore skin. If the condition is mild, people will only develop small patches on dry skin. However, the situation can get severe, in which case it can cause inflammation all over the skin, and the inflamed skin can become red, dark brown, or even purple depending upon the tone of the skin. Children with dermatitis bear skin barriers and dysfunction, which makes the skin dry, scaly, and itchy.
