Phases Of Atopic Dermatitis
There are three phases of atopic dermatitis, depending upon the age of the person. The signs and symptoms of the disease are quite the same; however, some differences can be observed.
Infertile stage
It is the first phase of atopic dermatitis, and it includes children up to 2 years old. It begins from 6 to 12 weeks of age. When this disease occurs at this small age, it affects the child differently depending upon its type and symptoms. This stage is characterized by the formation of patches and vesicles on the cheeks; the skin becomes dry and scaly. Facial patchy rashes can be seen on the chin and cheeks. The patches can become red. Lesions are formed on the skin, having an exudative appearance. The skin area for the formation of the lesions and patches is not fixed. Atopic dermatitis can be formed on any site of the skin of the infant. If the infant is in the crawling stage and shows more movement, then the skin can be infected due to exposed areas of the body like inner and outer arts to the arms and legs can be affected more. If properly taken care of, the skin improves by 18 months of age, but developing it later in life is more.
