Histamine is the chemical present in the blood released in response to injury by the cells and allergic and inflammatory reactions. Antihistamine is a drug responsible for blocking the response of this substance. Antihistamine blocker help with itching. This medicine is available both in sedating and anti-sedating. If itching is affecting sleep, then a sedating drug can be used. Otherwise, a non-sedative form is given. The sedative form of antihistamine has its effect for a longer period; therefore, you may feel dizzy and tired in the morning also.
