Dysphagia is a condition which causes difficulty in swallowing and is the sole indicating symptom of myasthenia gravis. The elderly people are more likely to experience difficulty in swallowing due to myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis can weaken and adversely affect the muscles involving in swallowing of food and water thus causing troubles with swallowing. In certain cases, certain drugs can also exacerbate the condition of myasthenia gravis and cause the disruption of the activity of muscles involving in swallowing.
