Trigger finger is not a gendered specific disorder, but it has seen more frequently in females of all age groups. The gender has shown to be a risk factor in the onset of disease A study conducted on patients of both gender and all age groups showed that onset of trigger finger was six times more common in females as compared to male., also 60% of them getting affected in the right hand. Also, the relation of gender with age showed that disorder is highly increasing in women of age from 40 to 60. While in males, the onset of disease was less, and the age group was not much affecting the onset of disease in males. The acceptable reason why women are more likely to develop trigger finger as compared to men is said that due to different body structure and hormone system females are more expected to develop bone diseases like osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid, and these diseases are linked with trigger finger, so the chances of this disorder are more in female than male.
