Jamu juice
Jamu juice is an extraordinary traditional drink which is herbal and keeps the metabolism in a balance and provides a refreshing taste as well. Jamu juice is a simple processing of fresh turmeric, lemon, ginger, water, and a little bit of sweetener like honey. Another good thing about jamu juice is that you can serve it warm or chilled depending on the season to attain the perfect immune-boosting properties.
Ingredients
- 125 grams fresh turmeric
- 20 grams fresh ginger
- A pinch of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons lemon
- Honey – 2 tablespoons or another sweetener
- 4 cups coconut water
Method
- Grab fresh ginger and turmeric and wash them with hot water to slice into thin pieces. It is your call to either peel or leave the skin on.
- Now add the ginger, turmeric, water, and black pepper in a blender and process on high speed.
- After creating a smooth puree, pour it into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Let the mixture simmer for 20 minutes and then add honey and lemon juice.
- You can use a cloth, fine-mesh strainer, or nut milk bag to strain the mixture and refrigerate it for later use.
