Abnormal Heart Valves

Abnormal Heart Valves

In the case of a disease like degenerative valve disease, the valves in the heart do not perform their function properly, which compromises the contraction of atria. The abnormal heart valves, especially the aortic valves, do not have required tissue flaps, or they may be present in the wrong shape or size, or they do not open properly. The abnormality in the heart valves, which is mostly in the case of congenital heart valve diseases, results in the poor blood circulation from the atrium to the ventricle, thus causing irregularity in the heart beating. Moreover, as a result of the abnormality in the heart valves, the heart works harder and thus enlarges in size, which leads to atrial fibrillation.
