Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease or coronary artery disease is one of the heart problems, which is a leading cause of atrial fibrillation in most of the patients. When the coronary arteries start narrowing down, there is the development of coronary heart disease. The coronary arteries are responsible for supplying oxygen in the blood from the lungs to the heart. There is a formation of plaques due to the buildup of cholesterol in the artery walls. The plaque formation results in the obstruction of blood flow to the right and left atria, which ultimately results in the abnormality of heart rate. The people who have coronary artery disease are at greater risk of attaining atrial fibrillation. Older adults are more prone to get atrial fibrillation.
