Stroke
If the blood clot or embolus moves to the brain via the blood vessels coming from the heart results in causing a stroke. For a lot of atrial fibrillation patients, there is no visible sign or symptom of the disease, but when the stroke occurs, it starts indicating the heart condition. Women are more prone to get strokes if they are already suffering from atrial fibrillation, while the chances of getting a stroke are lesser in men. Most of the time, the blood clot traveling from the heart muscles breaks off and block the blood flow in the arteries supplying blood to the brain. The discontinuation in the blood supply to the brain tissues causes the occurrence of a stroke.
