Maze procedure
There are many variations of this procedure, and the doctor might use a radiofrequency scalpel or extreme cold (cryotherapy) to form a pattern of scar tissues that starts interfering with the electrical impulses causing atrial fibrillation. There is a high success rate of the maze procedure, but the possibility of atrial fibrillation to come back is always there.
