Other associated risks
All activities, voluntary or involuntary require coordinated muscle activity. In a seizure, the loss of coordination can pose a significant risk to other day to day activities. Some of the common associated conditions in epileptic patients are listed:
- Falls: a seizure while standing or walking can result in falls. Bone injury, bruises etc., are other complicated outcomes of a fall.
- Road accidents: similarly, a fit while driving can lead to loss of control of the vehicle and an accident. This can have some serious outcomes, endangering the life of the patient and others.
