Ventilation/Perfusion (V/Q) Scan
Ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) scan is a test that doctors use if CTPA is not available or is not a suitable option for a certain patient. The procedure uses a radioactive material to indicate which parts of the patient’s lungs are getting proper air flow or ventilation and blood flow or perfusion. If there is reduced blood flow in a certain area in your lungs but the air flow is the usual then a clot might be developing there.
