Tumors
Spinal tumors can originate in the body and spread to the spine. The development of a spinal tumor and vertebral body metastases results in extreme back pain. A primary tumor observed in young patients is osteoid osteomas and osteoblastoma. These are benign tumors and can cause painful scoliosis.
