Sleep Apnea (Overview , Symptoms , Causes , Risk Factors , Types , Diagnosis , Home Remedies , Treatment and Prevention)

Large Tonsils

The primary cause of sleep apnea is frequent pauses in breathing and blocking the airway. Large tonsils also contribute in preventing the airway. Many children suffer from enlarged tonsils that make their airways narrower and make them snore while sleeping. Some people can have tonsils, while some can have adenoids. Immensely enlarged tonsils present origins multiple episodes of interruption in breathing, causing obstructive sleep apnea. In the case of sleep apnea due to tonsils, surgery is recommended. Surgery reduces the size of tonsils, reduces the obstruction, and opens the person’s airway, making breathing easy.
