Down Syndrome

A higher occurrence of sleep apnea is found in people having Down syndrome. People with Down syndrome usually have low muscle tone in their mouth, air passages are narrowed, have a large tongue, and many other factors. People with Down syndrome have abnormal cell division, which affects their physical features and can increase the chances of sleep apnea. Nearly 50% of the children having Down syndrome also complain about the lousy sleeping experience. However, sleep problems have seen to be more common in adults with sleep syndrome.
