Diabetes
A severe symptom of this disease is diabetes. The people with cystic fibrosis have thick and sticky mucus that causes scarring of the pancreas. The scarring of the pancreas prevents the production of normal amounts of insulin, causing diabetes due to insufficient insulin in the body.
