Pneumothorax is the collapse of the lungs. It is a condition characterized by leakage of air or gas in the pleural cavity. It occurs when the air starts to leak into the spaces that separate the lungs from the chest wall. It can cause complete lungs collapse or partial lungs collapse. It causes sudden chest pain and breathlessness. It can even be a life-threatening condition.
