Abdominal pain

Severe pain in the abdomen can be an indication of stomach cancer. This pain is central, localized, just above the belly button. Abdominal pain can happen due to various reasons when suffering from stomach cancer. The pain can be caused by the piles of undigested food or the damage done to the linings of the stomach. The pain can also be caused by the increase in the size of the tumor and inflammation. Sometimes the tumors are buried deep in the lining of the stomach and any external pressure can cause extreme pain. The bleeding in the tumors and cancerous cells can be another reason behind the abdominal pain. A doctor should be consulted in case the abdominal pain is persistent, along with other gastrointestinal dysfunction.
