A biopsy is the procedure of extracting a part of abnormal tissue from the body for the identification of cancerous cells and other problems. A biopsy is the most effective and precise way for the detection of cancer in any part of the body. The biopsy is majorly performed during endoscopy. The sample is then examined under the microscope by a pathologist. The patient is put under anesthesia, in order to avoid any discomfort and difficulty during the procedure. Sample can also be obtained from the area at higher risk of cancer invasion. Some common side effects of biopsy are:
